Our Mission
To partner with and support non-profit organizations that help our community thrive!
People helping people is at the heart of every credit union. At Mutual 1st Federal, we try to live that philosophy every day. Being part of the community we serve is one of our core values and something we believe in. Without our community, we would not be here.
The Community Involvement Team is composed of motivated employees who work collaboratively across the credit union to support local non-profit organizations. Our small (but mighty) team works to create opportunities for employees to engage with each other while making a positive impact.
We have several internal activities throughout the year that help us raise money for the non-profit organizations we support - from food competitions to spirit weeks to the ever-popular "pie in the face" nominations. These events have traditionally been the main way we support these organizations.
Moving Forward
In 2026, we're expanding our focus beyond fundraising by identifying opportunities for more hands-on involvement in the community - including during business hours. Employees have volunteer time off hours that they can use for group volunteer events at local non-profits. We're also exploring new ways to for our members to get involved. Keep an eye out at our branches or this webpage for upcoming opportunities to give back.
Historically, we’ve dedicated each quarter — or sometimes half the year — to a single organization. Beginning in 2026, we will partner with two primary organizations: one in the first quarter and one in the third. The remaining quarters will focus on coordinating group volunteer events with additional non‑profits throughout the community.
