Mutual 1st Federal

Privacy Statement

At Mutual 1st Federal we want to provide you with the best possible web browsing experience. Part of that experience is the security of knowing that any information you give us will remain private. We go to great lengths to ensure your privacy within any given part of our site as well as offline in our business offices.

When our Online Access or Loan Application asks members to enter sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best 128-bit encryption software in the industry-SSL. While on a secure page, such as Online Access, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers, such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, becomes locked as opposed to un-locked or open when you are just 'surfing'. Our Online Access/Telephone Teller login requirements include a password/PIN that can be up to 12 alpha/numeric characters in length. Members can assist us in keeping their accounts secure by updating the password/PIN periodically.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect member information off-line. All of our member information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above is restricted in our offices. We allow personally identifiable information to be accessed only by those employees who have a legitimate business reason to access such information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy and what they can do to ensure our member information is protected. Annually all officials and employees are required to sign an agreement to keep member information confidential.

Mutual 1st Federal collects and retains information about its members only when it is necessary for normal business operations. We use log files to collect IP addresses to analyze website trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for comprehensive use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Mutual 1st Federal will share specific information about its member accounts and/or other personally identifiable information with third parties only under the following circumstances:

  • to comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • to protect Mutual 1st Federal against fraud
  • to complete financial transactions or transfers

To assist us in offering you services, we may share information with affiliated third parties, companies that work for us, such as check-printing and data processing companies. These companies might for example, assist us in offering certain products and services or help us mail information. These companies act on our behalf and are obligated to keep the information that we provide to them confidential. Mutual 1st Federal does not share or sell member information to third party marketers offering their products and services.
